In the wake of Hurricanes Milton and Helene, countless pets have been displaced and left vulnerable affecting families and shelters across the country. Animal Humane Advocacy is mobilizing efforts to collect essential supplies for these affected animals, and we need your help!
How You Can Contribute
In partnership with rescues and shelters across the country, we are dedicated to providing vital support for animals suffering the devastating impacts of these storms. During our stationed visit outside the store, Walmart customers can donate directly or purchase necessary supplies for the animals in need. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference!
What We Need
Here’s a list of essential items that can help provide food, shelter, and medical care to these vulnerable pets:
Pet Food: Canned and dry food for dogs and cats.
Bedding: Blankets, towels, and pet beds for comfort and warmth.
Leashes and Collars: Essential for keeping pets secure.
Crates and Carriers: For safe transport and shelter.
First Aid Supplies: Bandages, antiseptics, and other veterinary necessities.
Flea and Tick Treatment: Crucial for animal health.
Toys: To help keep animals entertained and reduce stress.
Grooming Supplies: Brushes, shampoos, and nail clippers.
Cat Litter: Essential for hygiene in temporary shelters.
Dog and Cat Treats: For comforting and rewarding pets.
Harnesses: For better control during walks.
Pet Identification Tags: Important for reunification with owners.
Additional Supplies: Paper towels, wipes, and pee pads.
